After his long stay in South Africa, Mahatma Gandhi gained huge respect as a nationalist, theorist, and organiser in India. He was invited by Gopal Krishna Gokhale who was a senior leader of the Indian National Congress to join the Indian National Movement against tyrant British Rule.

Gandhi is also known as “Mahatma” and “Father of the Nation”. The title “Mahatma” was awarded to him by Rabindranath Tagore.

Gandhi being an ardent advocate of education, called for education to people who could not get it at early age. He also emphasized on women's education. Apart from education, Gandhiji took the issue of women's role in the society with a different perspective.
